This is my BFA final. It's still in progress big time. It's based off of a James Thurber short story 'The Little Girl and the Wolf' and it's been fun so far!!

Here is my final project for Nino. We did it based off of the Roald Dahl book The BFG (The Big Friendly Giant). It was a group project and it was awesome. I learned so much and it was a great experience because we presented in groups in front of a panel of industry pros and we got some really insightful feedback.
I was assigned the main character Sophie, the Giant Country environment, and a story moment of Sophie's first trip to The BFG's cave. As a group we decided to try to maintain a storybook style, so we've incorporated line and flat painting and texture. I actually stumbled upon a style when I created Sophie and from there created the look for the project. Trying to communicate to my group how I made my character and how they should take those elements and use them in their drawings was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but like I said great experience.

This is my first project for my viz dev class with Nino. We had to design characters and environments from the Harrison Bergeron story by Kurt Vonnegut. Below is my Harrison, his cell and a story moment. I'm still working on all of them in terms of painting and I got some excellent notes on my story moment and plan to do revisions over the winter.

For this project in BFA we had to design a parade float and parade master that had "ulterior motives". So we had to design a normal looking Parade Master and float and an evil version. It was up to us what methods they used to lure children to them so I choose puppets. The float is essentially a puppet theatre and the parade master guides children onto the float under the pretense of watching the performance then chooses a select few to turn into puppets and become apart of his theatre. Like everything else I do it is still in progress.

Heres a quick paint of a character I'm working on for BFA

Here is a painting I did in photoshop of my sister as an 'imagination drawing' for viz dev. It was a lot of fun, I forgot how much I love doing portraits (plus it's good practice)!
This is a book cover illustration based off of a short story for Barron's class as our final. It was a lot of fun to do, even though I'm not quite finished with it yet. I'd like to work on the textures more and weather it a lot. I think I might go back into it over the summer for practice doing textures and making brushes in photoshop.
This is a color study I did as an imagination piece for viz dev and an exploration for a painting I made for Barron Story's Class. The actual painting is Black and white, more blown out, and done in acrylic, but if anyone sees that zine they should know the reproduction in there is terrible and it doesn't look anything like that.

Below are my interior and exterior shots of my mask shop for my viz dev project. There's still a lot that needs fixing and adjusting, but this is what I have until I get a chance to work into it again.

This is a character from this semesters viz dev class. He is a mask shop owner in Marrakech and hopefully soon I'll have a couple of environments to add.
The following posts are some images from my first semester of viz dev.

So here's something basic to start off my blog.
